The National Medical Commission (NMC) on July 17, 2026, issued a notification regarding the implementation of ABDM-compliant HMIS (Health Management Information System) in Medical Colleges/ Institutions under NMC.
The following has been stated: -
•The National Medical Commission (NMC) has directed all medical colleges to ensure full implementation of HMIS, AEBAS, CCTV integration, and ABDM-HMIS linkage for effective monitoring of medical education and clinical records.
•Medical colleges must integrate their hospital HMIS with the ABDM-HMIS portal and ensure compliance with ABHA integration, HFR/HPR mapping, and other required milestones.
•NMC has identified institutions that have incomplete integration, are not using ABDM-enabled HMIS, or have failed to submit valid HFR IDs.
•Non-compliant institutions have been instructed to complete the integration immediately, failing which regulatory action may be initiated by the Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB), NMC.
